Announcing the Melbourne & Warsaw World Coffee Championships 2022
Today, the Specialty Coffee Association has announced that the 2022 World Barista Championship (WBC) and World Brewers Cup (WBrC) will be hosted at the Melbourne International Coffee Expo (MICE), from September 27-30, 2022. MICE last hosted these competitions in 2013 and were previously confirmed as the hosts of the 2020 World Coffee Championships (WCCs), which were canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today we have also announced that the 2022 World Latte Art Championship (WLAC), World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship (WCIGS), World Cup Tasters Championship (WCTC), and World Coffee Roasting Championship (WCRC) will be held in conjunction with the SCA’s World Of Coffee trade show, in Warsaw, Poland, from June 16-18, 2022. The World Coffee Roasting Championship will begin one day prior to the opening of the trade show.
The annual World Coffee Championships are the pinnacle of the competitive coffee-making circuit and the culmination of qualifying events held by licensed Competition Bodies around the world. “We are thrilled to have secured these prestigious World Coffee Championships,” said Lauren Winterbottom, MICE Show Director. “We already knew Australia was a renowned coffee destination, and now we have the chance to share our coffee culture with a global audience.”
“Melbourne is a fantastic location for the World Coffee Championships, and we are delighted to be hosted at MICE once more,” said Yannis Apostolopoulos, SCA Chief Executive Officer. “Australia has an incredible coffee culture and we’re excited to celebrate the best competitors from around the world in such a fantastic city.”
The 2021 Milan World Coffee Championships featuring the World Barista Championship, World Brewers Cup, and World Cup Tasters Championship, will take place at HostMilano, Italy, from October 22-26. Fans of the competitions will also be able to watch the entire event via live stream across World Coffee Championships websites and social media.
