Bacha Coffee Expands Global Footprint with New Stores in Dubai and Taipei

Bacha Coffee, the renowned Moroccan heritage coffee brand under the umbrella of V3 Gourmet, a subsidiary of Singapore-based V3 Group, is making significant strides in its international expansion. The brand, embedded in the rich V3 Gourmet heritage, has recently unveiled its latest ventures in Taipei and Dubai, bringing the total count to 13 stores in East Asia and three in the Middle East, complemented by standalone locations in Morocco and France.

This month witnessed the inauguration of Bacha Coffee’s first establishments in Taiwan and the UAE. The brand’s entry into the bustling Taiwanese market took place at the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Department Store in Xinyi Xintiandi, Taipei, on January 9, followed by a second opening at Dubai Mall a week later. Notably, the Taipei store, spanning 1,500 square feet, distinguishes itself as the first Bacha Coffee store globally to offer a retail coffee boutique, a 14-seat coffee bar, and a takeaway counter—all seamlessly integrated into a single space.

Taha Bouqdib, President & CEO of V3 Gourmet, expressed his excitement about the new endeavors, stating, “The city of Taipei is a vessel of life, vibrantly reminiscent of the age-old medina of Marrakech during coffee’s golden era. Bacha Coffee’s latest destination imprints its legacy in the beauty of modern Taipei, where people past, present, and tomorrow share their timeless appreciation for 100% arabica coffee.”

With the addition of the Taipei store, Bacha Coffee continues to solidify its presence in East Asia, operating nine stores in Singapore, two in Malaysia, and one in Hong Kong. The company sees East Asia as a pivotal market for growth and, in August 2023, outlined plans for further expansion in the Greater Bay Area (GBA), covering nine cities in China’s Guangdong province, Hong Kong, and Macau. Further, Bacha Coffee is poised to make its debut in Indonesia in 2024 with an outlet at Jakarta’s Plaza Senayan shopping center.

The Dubai Mall outlet, spanning almost 2,000 square feet, follows Bacha Coffee’s initial entry into the Middle East with locations in Qatar and Kuwait at the end of 2023. Originating in Marrakech in 1910, Bacha Coffee achieved fame with its original café in the Dar el Bacha palace, frequented by notable figures such as US President Franklin Roosevelt and UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill. V3 Gourmet, following renovation, reopened Bacha Coffee’s Dar el Bacha store in November 2023. Additionally, Bacha Coffee operates a single site in France.
