World of Coffee Geneva 2025 to Host Four Global Championships with Over 100 Elite Coffee Professionals

World of Coffee Geneva 2025 to Host Four Global Championships with Over 100 Elite Coffee Professionals

More than 100 elite coffee professionals from around the globe will compete for world titles as the World Coffee Championships return to Europe, taking center stage at World of Coffee Geneva 2025, from June 26 to 28 at the Palexpo Exhibition and Convention Center. Organized by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA), this flagship event will spotlight four international competitions alongside the Coffee Design Awards and Best New Product Awards, celebrating creativity, skill, and innovation in specialty coffee.

Four Prestigious World Coffee Competitions

The event will feature the following global championships:

  • World Latte Art Championship (WLAC): Baristas demonstrate mastery of milk and espresso to craft stunning latte designs. A new semi-final format adds an Art Bar segment to the main stage performance, challenging finalists to push the boundaries of visual creativity.

  • World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship (WCIGS): Merging the worlds of coffee and cocktail culture, this competition showcases the craft of coffee mixology—from randomized Spirit Bar challenges to on-stage presentations of Irish Coffees and signature beverages.

  • World Cup Tasters Championship (WCTC): Speed and sensory accuracy define this competition, where participants must identify the odd cup out in a series of blind tastings. The top four cuppers will face off in a final round to claim the title.

  • Cezve/Ibrik Championship (CIC): Honoring one of the oldest coffee traditions, this competition focuses on the art of brewing with the cezve/ibrik. Competitors bring cultural heritage and brewing technique to the global stage.

Spotlight on Design and Innovation

In addition to live competitions, the event will also host the Coffee Design Awards and Best New Product Awards:

  • Coffee Design Awards recognize excellence in:

    • Branding: Visual identity and narrative

    • Packaging: Creative and functional design

    • Spaces: Innovative environments for brewing, teaching, or serving coffee

  • Best New Product Awards highlight breakthrough innovations in:
