CQI to Launch Global Skills Survey to Enhance Coffee Industry Standards

The Coffee Quality Institute (CQI), renowned for its Q Grader certification, is undertaking a global evaluation of the skills essential for coffee cuppers. This initiative is part of CQI’s effort to ensure its training programs meet the evolving needs of the coffee industry.

Merrill van der Walt, CQI’s Curriculum Manager, joined the organization to strengthen its educational services and support this assessment. The survey will be brief, accessible in multiple languages, and available for completion by coffee professionals globally. The findings will help shape future updates to CQI’s curriculum, aligning it with the demands of modern coffee quality evaluation.

CQI plans to release the survey in early October through its social media channels and other platforms, marking the first step in an extensive review of the skills needed to advance coffee quality standards in the industry.
